Terms of Service

Last updated: September 17, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

Workfinder ("Workfinder," "we," "us," or "our") provides a platform that connects customers with independent service providers such as babysitters, private chefs, tutors, handymen, dog walkers, dog groomers, painters, and cleaners (each, a "Service"). By creating an account, browsing the platform, or booking or offering a Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Workfinder.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Workfinder. By using the platform, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and up to date.

3. What Workfinder is — and is not

Workfinder is a venue that lets customers and providers find each other, communicate, schedule bookings, and process payment. Workfinder is not an employer, staffing agency, or party to any agreement between a customer and a provider. Providers listed on Workfinder are independent contractors and are not employees, agents, or representatives of Workfinder. Workfinder does not supervise, direct, or control the manner in which any provider performs a Service.

4. No background checks — you are responsible for your own due diligence

Workfinder does not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, licensing checks, or reference checks on providers unless a listing explicitly states otherwise, and does not independently verify claims providers make about their experience, qualifications, or certifications. This applies to every category on the platform, including childcare-related Services. Before booking any Service — especially one involving children, pets, or access to your home — you are solely responsible for interviewing the provider, checking references, requesting documentation, and otherwise satisfying yourself that the provider is appropriate for your needs. Workfinder strongly encourages customers to conduct their own independent background checks before booking childcare or in-home Services.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

6. Bookings and payments

Bookings made through Workfinder are agreements between the customer and the provider. Payments are processed through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Workfinder does not store your full card number. Fees, cancellation terms, and pricing shown at the time of booking apply to that booking. Disputes about the quality, timing, or performance of a Service should first be raised directly between the customer and provider; Workfinder may, but is not obligated to, assist in resolving a dispute.

7. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to: misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or the nature of a Service; use the platform for any unlawful purpose; harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user; circumvent Workfinder's payment system for a booking initiated on the platform; post false reviews; or attempt to access another user's account or non-public parts of the platform.

8. Content and reviews

You are responsible for content you post, including listings, messages, photos, and reviews. Reviews must reflect a genuine experience. We may remove content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our discretion, is harmful, misleading, or unlawful.

9. Reporting and enforcement

If you have a safety concern about another user or a Service, report it to us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that we believe pose a risk to other users, or at our discretion for any reason with or without notice.

10. Disclaimers

Workfinder is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any provider or customer will meet your expectations.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Workfinder and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform or any Service booked through it, including any act or omission of a provider or customer. Workfinder's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms will not exceed the amount of fees you paid to Workfinder in the twelve months before the claim arose.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Workfinder harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or a Service you provided or received.

13. Informal dispute resolution

If you have a dispute with Workfinder, you agree to first contact us and attempt to resolve it informally before pursuing any other remedy.

14. Termination

You may stop using Workfinder and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Workfinder after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
